Give your employees the incentives they want

3 incentives to get workers back in the office

While some people are excited to head back to the office, surveys have shown most are not. A recent poll by insurance company Breeze found that 65 percent of people would instead take a 5 percent pay cut and work from home rather than go back to the office.

Since everyone is not as excited as CEOs about coming back, companies have had to start offering incentives to get people back to work in the office. Some of those incentives are attached to COVID-19 vaccinations.

Here is a look at three of the top incentives companies use to get people to come back to the office.

1 – Money

If there’s one thing we all could use a little more of, it’s money. Employers know this, and several offer cold, hard cash to employees who come back to the office. CoStar, a global real estate data company, offered $10,000 a day to randomly selected employees who went back in the office and got vaccinated. The company was also awarding vacations and a Tesla.

2 – Onsite meal options

Some companies are luring their employees back with hot meals. Wpromote, a digital marketing agency in New York, is offering catered breakfasts and lunches for employees. The company also gives away free snacks and has after-work happy hours. By providing meals, like food delivery twice per day, companies save employees from leaving the office and risk COVID-19 or waiting in long lines at restaurants.

3 – Wellness programs

Companies are also offering wellness programs to get employees back to the office. With physical and mental health becoming the top priority for most employees, a company wellness program can help persuade people to come back.

Wellness programs are incredibly popular with employees and have many benefits attached to them. Studies have shown employees are more productive at work, have fewer sick days, and reduce healthcare costs. Nine in 10 workers reported feeling more motivated if employers emphasize wellness initiatives. Sixty-one percent of employees are also more satisfied with their jobs if there is a wellness program, according to SHRM.
